The Original Order of Things:

An AAO Monthly Newsletter

July 2023, Volume 3, Issue 6

Editor's Welcome

Welcome to the summer edition of The Original Order of Things. We hope you are all enjoying the warm weather and some time off. As we wind down from a busy conference season, we draw your attention to an important advocacy item for the AAO - the current situation in Peel Region. We also have New Professional Spotlight to share!

AAO News

a. AAO and the Region of Peel Archives

The AAO’s Board of Directors is working with archival colleagues across Ontario and Canada to advocate for the continued existence of the Region of Peel Archives with the upcoming dissolution of the Peel Region in early 2025. Stay tuned for more information and for ways you can help!

bAAO Store Launched

The AAO recently launched their online store. Find products such as our organizational history book and our new AAO branded tote bags!

c. Archeion Feature Friday

Feature your institution on the AAO’s social media! As a way to promote the AAO’s Institutional members and their presence on Archeion, we are inviting institutions to participate in our new social media series,#FeatureFriday. The AAO will share posts on its official social media accounts highlighting participating institutions and their holdings.

This is an opportunity for our social media followers to discover your institution and Archeion.

Here are the conditions for participation:

    • Must have an active AAO Institutional membership (2023-2024).
    • Must have content in Archeion (digital objects preferred, but not required).
    • Must complete this brief survey about your institution’s presence on Archeion.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me at archeion@aao-archivists.ca. You can also follow the AAO on social media to see these posts and learn more about our institutional members.
